6-Day Devotional: Trusting God’s Process for Success
Monday: When Life Feels Slow
Some seasons don’t feel broken—they just feel slow. You’re doing what you know to do, staying consistent, trying to grow, and yet nothing around you seems to reflect that effort. That kind of season can be frustrating because it’s hard to measure progress when nothing obvious is changing.
But slow seasons are not empty. They are often where God is doing His deepest work. While you’re looking for external movement, He’s shaping your patience, your trust, and your perspective. The pace may not match your expectations, but it doesn’t mean you’re off track. Learning to trust God’s process for success starts here—believing that something meaningful is happening, even when you can’t see it yet.
Exercise & Reflection:
Take 10–15 minutes today and write down where you feel “stuck” or slowed down. Then, next to each area, write one possible way God could be growing you in that space (patience, discipline, trust, perspective). Reflect on this: What if this season isn’t holding me back, but preparing me?
Tuesday: Growth You Can’t Always See
Not all growth is obvious. Some of the most important changes happen quietly—in your thoughts, your habits, and your daily decisions. It may not feel dramatic, but these small shifts are shaping who you’re becoming.
Internal growth is what prepares you for external success. Without it, the very things you’re hoping for could become overwhelming instead of fulfilling. That’s why God often works beneath the surface first. It may not feel significant in the moment, but over time, it becomes the foundation for everything else.
Exercise & Reflection:
At the end of your day, pause and reflect on three ways you’ve grown recently—even small ones (better reactions, more patience, wiser decisions). Write them down. Then reflect: What has changed in me that I might have overlooked?
Wednesday: Moving Beyond Good Intentions
It’s easy to want change. It’s easy to plan, think, and talk about what needs to improve. But intention alone doesn’t create progress. At some point, movement has to follow.
It doesn’t have to be big or perfect. It just has to be consistent. Small steps, taken daily, begin to shift direction over time. Waiting for the perfect moment can keep you stuck longer than necessary. Growth often happens when you move forward with what you have, not when everything feels ready.
Trusting God’s process for success includes being willing to take action—even in uncertainty.
Exercise & Reflection:
Choose one area of your life where you’ve been “thinking about change” but haven’t acted. Identify one small step you can take today—and actually do it. Afterward, reflect: What did taking action teach me about myself?
Thursday: Trusting the Timing
Waiting is one of the hardest parts of the process. Especially when you feel ready and you’ve been patient for a long time. It can feel like you’re being overlooked or delayed.
But timing is often about preparation. What you’re asking for may be right—but if it comes too early, it can create more pressure than purpose. God’s process includes aligning your readiness with the opportunity.
Trusting the timing means believing there is intention behind the pace, even when it doesn’t match your expectations.
Exercise & Reflection:
Think of something you’re currently waiting for. Write it down. Then answer this honestly: If I received this today, what might I not be fully prepared for yet? Reflect on what still needs to grow in you.
Friday: Choosing Alignment Over Control
It’s possible to move forward and still feel slightly off. Everything may look fine on the outside, but internally, something doesn’t feel settled.
That’s often a sign of misalignment.
Alignment requires trust. It means being willing to adjust, even when something seems to be working. It means choosing what’s right over what’s easy to control. Because control can create movement—but alignment creates peace.
Trusting God’s process for success means choosing alignment over appearance.
Exercise & Reflection:
Take a moment to evaluate a current decision or direction in your life. Ask yourself: Does this bring me peace, or just progress? Write down what you feel led to adjust—even if it’s small.
Saturday: Recognizing the Progress
When progress isn’t obvious, it’s easy to assume it isn’t happening. But growth often builds quietly until one day, it becomes undeniable.
Your mindset may have shifted. Your reactions may be different. Your habits may be stronger. These are real signs of progress—even if they’re not dramatic.
Sometimes the only reason it doesn’t feel like progress is because it didn’t happen the way you expected.
But when you step back, you begin to see it—you weren’t standing still. You were being prepared.
Exercise & Reflection:
Look back over the past 3–6 months. Write down specific ways you’ve changed, grown, or matured. Then reflect: If I’ve come this far already, what might God still be preparing me for next?
