Series: Progress, Process, Possibilities.
Focus: The Blessing Is Looking For You
Key Scripture
2 Peter 1:4-8 (KJV)
“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature…”
3 John 1:2 (KJV)
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
1. God’s Promises Are Bigger Than Your Current Reality
God’s promises are not based on your present condition.
They are based on His divine plan for your future.
• God’s promises are “exceeding great”
• His plans exceed your imagination
• God already saw your future before you did
The promise is not wishful thinking — it is God revealing what He already decided.
2. The Blessing Is Looking For You
Blessings are not random accidents.
God designed favor, healing, opportunity, and breakthrough with your name attached to it.
• The blessing pursues you
• The blessing overtakes you
• The blessing memorizes your pathways
You didn’t just stumble into grace.
God’s promise has been chasing you.
3. You Can Live In What God Permits Or What God Prefers
There is a difference between success and God’s preferred will.
You can:
• Build a successful life without God
• Gain things naturally
• Still miss God’s highest plan for you
God’s preferred will requires spiritual growth.
True prosperity begins with the soul.
4. Faith Must Grow Into Character
Faith is only the beginning.
According to 2 Peter, believers must continue growing spiritually.
Add to your faith:
• Virtue (Excellence)
• Knowledge
• Temperance (Self-Control)
• Patience (Endurance)
• Godliness
• Brotherly Kindness
• Love
God wants transformation, not just inspiration.
5. Self-Control Is Part Of Spiritual Maturity
Growth means learning how to respond differently.
• Not everything deserves a reaction
• Emotional maturity matters
• Self-control reflects spiritual growth
Temperance means:
• Thinking before speaking
• Not exploding emotionally
• Staying steady under pressure
6. Patience Means Endurance
Biblical patience is not passive waiting.
It means:
• Holding on while under pressure
• Staying faithful while waiting
• Believing God through difficulty
Endurance keeps you standing while God works.
7. God Wants You To Become “Another” Like Jesus
God’s goal is transformation.
Not imitation.
Transformation.
As believers grow:
• People should feel God’s love through them
• Conflict should be handled differently
• Character should begin reflecting Christ
The evidence of growth is visible change.
8. Your Past Does Not Disqualify You
God chose you before you got everything together.
He chose you:
• While broken
• While struggling
• While running
• While imperfect
Grace found you before you found Him.
9. The Holy Ghost Confirms Your Identity
The Holy Spirit is God’s seal on your life.
It means:
• You belong to Him
• Your identity is authenticated
• You are protected by God
God placed His mark on your life.
10. Touching God Requires Intention
Jesus said:
“I didn’t say somebody bumped me. I said somebody touched me.”
A bump has no faith in it.
A touch has purpose.
Faith reaches intentionally for God.
Key Takeaways
• God’s promises are already prepared
• Spiritual growth unlocks greater levels
• Consistency matters
• Endurance is necessary
• The blessing is pursuing you
• God’s preferred will is greater than what you imagined
